Wow…..I thought we were D-E-D Dead! Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs. Then, Mike Lowell hits a single to keep us alive, then Kevin Youkilis hits this beautiful and shining home run…Just think, if Coco was still out, Youk wouldn’t have been in the 7 spot–it would have been someone who would have given us one of those “automatic outs” that had been plaguing the lower half of our lineup for far too long. But Youk saves the day! Whoo Hoo!
The commentators last night (using the term loosely, as it was not Rem-Dawg and DO) mentioned that the Sox have 18 (now 19) come from behind wins this year, the most of any team in the majors….does not feel that way to me….there has been far to many of those “bases loaded with no outs” opportunities recently, with most of them being completely and utterly wasted…so having this kind of win brings hope to humanity, the hope that we really CAN come from behind in the last second and claim the win.
Another word about the commentators…..holy crap…….just when I think I cannot see/hear any WORSE commentary, I watch a few minutes of the “DSR” or the “Detroit Sports Report”. Can I just tell you the woman anchor missed her calling….I think she needs to run, not walk to the nearest Doughnut shop and get hired as their drive-thru person, because she sure as sh*t should not be in broadcasting……she had no idea where she was, and then she starts a dialogue with the game commentators, who were MASTERS of the obvious, she asks such gems as “Do the Tigers still have a shot at the postseason, even if they did not win tonight?” Huh? Last time I checked, sweetie, it’s only freaking JUNE!
Tonight: Wake vs. Jeremy Bonderman 7:05pm.
